Collections and Research

The Department of Collections and Research is responsible for managing, conserving, building knowledge about, contextualising and making accessible the tangible and intangible cultural heritage represented by the agency’s collections and environments.

Areas of responsibility

  • Management and conservation of the collections (incl. library and historical archive)
  • Knowledge building and contextualisation of the collections (incl. book collection, photograph collection and historical archive)
  • Collection and acquisition
  • Making collections and knowledge accessible
  • Responsibility for conservation plans at the museums with a historical setting
  • Running, developing and coordinating the agency’s R&D work
